Lisa Naumovski started her career as a Legal Secretary fresh out of high school, working for a boutique inner city law firm and gaining valuable experience in a busy western suburbs practice before assisting Barrister Jeremy Gormly SC in Sydney before moving to the North Coast.
While working for local firm Stone & Partners (where she was secretary to Brendan Bourke), juggling two boys and a brand new baby daughter, Lisa achieved an Associate Degree in Law (Paralegal Studies) at Southern Cross University in 2000. During her time with Stone & Partners, Lisa was also responsible for instigating, organising and facilitating, an annual seminar for Legal Assistants with the Far North Coast Law Society, an event she ran for over 5 years.
Lisa comes to Bourke Love with a wealth of experience, having recently spent 13 years working for a large all services law firm at Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah as Paralegal to an accredited specialist lawyer in personal injury law. In that role, Lisa instructed Counsel (locally, interstate and in Ireland on one occasion), attended court, prepared matters for hearing in the District and Supreme Courts and worked on both NSW and QLD personal injury cases.
Lisa’s favourite thing about her job now is “the people I’m working with – I really appreciate the collaborative and friendly approach of my team.” She says, “We generally meet our clients at a terrible time in their lives, and it feels good to be able to help them so that they can fully understand their options and be able to concentrate on their well-being rather than the legal red tape.”
Lisa works in Bourke Love’s offices at Ballina and Kingscliff. She is a member of the Kingscliff Chamber of Commerce, President of Banora Point High School Parent & Citizens Association, Secretary of the Tweed District Council of Parent & Citizens Association and District Delegate for the P&C Federation of NSW.
When not at work, you’ll find Lisa anywhere in her beloved Kingscliff, catching a film at the Cineplex, doing her best to win trivia at the Cudgen Leagues Club, or taking in the unmatched view over a wine on the deck of the Surf Club.
