Lynetta James has been working in a legal capacity for more than 25 years, starting her career in 1991 as an Articled Clerk to Mark Orchard in Toowoomba, while completing a Bachelor of Laws at QUT externally. She gained admission to the Supreme Court of QLD in 1997, the High Court in 1998 and the Supreme Court of NSW in 2003. She has been an integral part of Bourke Love Lawyers for 10 years.
Lynetta has gained valuable experience acting for both plaintiff and defendant clients in personal injury matters, as well as specialised commercial litigation claims. Over the course of her career, Lynetta has represented large insurer clients including Allianz, QBE, Wesfarmers Insurance, and Woolworths. Her experience in this regard allows Lynetta a unique insight into and understanding of the decision-making processes of insurers, to the benefit of her plaintiff clientele.
Lynetta is known for her compassion and empathy, and has developed a strong practice in motor vehicle accident claims, slip/trip and fall cases, and general personal injury litigation.
”I help problem solve for people during a very difficult time of their life,” Lynetta says. “The people I see are dealing with injury or death which has come about in situations that are unexpected. The situation is traumatic. These people have so many different things they need to deal with that it becomes overwhelming for them. On top of that is a daunting legal process. Being able to lessen the load and obtain a result for my clients so that they have choices about how to move forward is the most rewarding part of my job.”
In an effort to maintain her own equilibrium, Lynetta spends plenty of time outside enjoying the hinterland which she is fortunate enough to live in with her three boys.
