Pania Watt has been with Bourke Love Lawyers since 2004, when the firm was still known as Stone & Partners. She attended Southern Cross University at Lismore whilst working in the firm’s Ballina office, and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2010 after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 2009.
Following admission, Pania has developed a robust practice in workers compensation, work injury damages, total and permanent disability, superannuation and motor accidents claims in both in NSW and QLD. She has a particular interest in work related Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder injuries in emergency services first responders, and is known for her empathy and calm approach to negligence proceedings arising out of such injuries.
“I get a great sense of satisfaction out of helping people who’ve been injured get back on their feet again and regain control of their lives,” says Pania. “I enjoy seeing my clients empowered by the knowledge they gain to ensure that they, or their loved ones, won’t be in the dark about their rights or entitlements in the future.”
After working in Ballina for 13 years, Pania now heads up Bourke Love’s office at Kingscliff, and regularly travels to the Bourke Love offices at Lismore and Ballina to see clients.
Pania is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Far North Coast Law Society and BNI, and is an Approved Legal Services Provider with WIRO (Workers Compensation Independent Review Office).
When not at work, you might find Pania camping with her young family, exploring the Gold Coast’s beautiful hinterland (usually in search of a winery), or at the beach where she has agreed with her husband she will learn to surf this year (or at least stand up on a board!).
